Cowley First-Cowley County Economic Development Partnership will be hosting CPA’s Galen Pfeifer and Taylor Dirks of Adams, Brown, Beran and Ball, Chartered (ABBB) as they present on the topic ‘Understanding Federal Opportunity Zones’.

The free presentation will be held December 18, 2018 at the Arkansas City Water Treatment Plant Conference Room, 400 W. Madison Street, Arkansas City from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Lunch is provided.

The Opportunity Zones tax incentive was established by Congress in the 2017 Tax Cut and Jobs Act as an innovative approach to spur long-term private sector investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide.

In May 2018 the IRS released the list of Kansas communities designated as qualified Opportunity Zones, which includes some property in Arkansas City.
