The Little Town that Blew Away Gets Major Upgrades

Udall, tucked into the northwest corner of Cowley County, offers the best of both worlds: quiet, small-town living with the excitement of a big city nearby.

In fact, the little town that blew away during a May 25, 1955 tornado is seeing many improvements. Udall’s history is marked by the devastating tornado that killed 80 people, but brought about life-saving advances in weather warning systems.

Udall is proud of its good schools, which strive for low teacher-to-student ratios.

Udall Fall Festival

2017 Dates: Will be posted

The annual Udall Fall Festival is held the first weekend of October. A carnival kicks off the event on Thursday evening and continues throughout the festival. Saturday morning breakfast followed by their famous homemade Chicken and Noodle dinner takes place at the Udall Community Building. An afternoon parade, car show, and family activities in the park fill the day and ends with a street dance and beer garden Saturday night.
