Credentialing FAQ


What is the CRMCS?

  • The Comprehensive Resource Management and Credentialing System (CRMCS) is a web based statewide system provided by the State of Kansas for credentialing and management of personnel and resources.  This system is used by many government agencies within Cowley County to credential their employees.

What is the purpose of credentialing personnel through the CRMCS?

  • Provides a specialized card which can be used for identification and for accountability on an incident scene
  • Cards are a recognized statewide standard
  • Provides a way to confirm that an individual holds certain qualifications
  • Can contain essential health information

Who uses the system?

  • Designated points of contact within an eligible agency wishing to credential their staff
  • Designed so that each participating agency can manage their own data

How do I determine whether my agency is eligible, and how do I get access to the system?

  • Most public safety and government agencies within Cowley County are eligible. If your agency does not already have access to the system through a dedicated Point of Contact, or you don’t know who that person is, contact Emergency Management.

I am a member of an eligible agency. How do I get a card?

  • Each agency has their own policies regarding who is credentialed in the system, and when a credential is issued.
  • Contact the Point of Contact for your agency. If you do not know who that person is, contact Emergency Management for assistance.

I am an agency Point of Contact. What personal information is required for credentialing within the CRMCS?

  • Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Driver’s License number
  • Job Title
  • Department/Organization name
  • A photo against a white background

Is there any other information that is recommended?

  • Emergency contact information
  • Allergies, essential medications
  • Qualifications (i.e. certifications and special training)
