Our Mission

Our mission for the organization is that the City-Cowley County Health Department will be a well financed organization capable of implementing its Mission on behalf of the communities it serves; that the services are delivered by a highly functioning team that serves as a lightning rod or advocate for public health awareness and change through continual assessment and addressing of community health needs; and that the Department is recognized as a valued partner in public health policy development.

Our Vision

The mission of the City-Cowley County Health Department is to prevent disease and disability, protect the public health, and promote community health through the teaching of healthy life styles.  This provision of public health service is focused on population based, community driven interventions.  However, the local health agency does provide some individual services as a safety net for those who would not otherwise receive care.  The services rendered by the health department are preventative interventions that have been proven to have a direct impact on decreasing the medical costs associated with acute and chronic diseases.
