This is a reminder to join KDADS on the third Wednesday of the month for the HCBS Final Settings Rule Stakeholder Call. This is an opportunity to stay updated on the State’s planning for Final Settings Rule implementation.

General information about these calls:

  • Calls are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 12:00 & 5:30 pm.
  • During each call KDADS staff will share updates about what they’re working on for the Final Settings Rule and the feedback they’ve gotten from CMS.
  • There will be time for questions from stakeholders during the call.
  • Calls will be facilitated by Wichita State University’s Community Engagement Institute.
  • During each one-hour call:
  • The WSU facilitator will introduce the topic of the day.
  • Participants will be asked to keep their phones on mute (*6 on your key pad or use your mute key) until the Q&A Time. This will reduce background noise.)
  • KDADS Staff will provide any updates they have.
  • After KDADS updates, the line will be opened for questions related to the updates or the Final Settings Rule in general.

INTERHAB TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES

Quality of Life Training  (Lunch is included on both days)

Have a blast with fellow service coordinators and direct support professionals while learning and practicing quality of life enhancement super skills.  Camp graduates will be better equipped to support the behavior support needs and quality of life goals of those they serve and themselves.

Salina- July 12th from 10am to 5pm (Targeted Case Managers), July 13th from 8:30am to 3pm (Targeted Case Managers & Direct Support Providers) located at the OCCK Transportation Center in Salina, KS.

Learn and practice how to:

  • Create supportive environments
  • Encourage positive behaviors
  • Respond to challenging behaviors
  • Take care of your own quality of life
  • Implement function-based interventions outlined in individual behavior support plans

Topeka- Sept. 13th from 10am to 5pm (Targeted Case Managers), Sept. 14th from 8:30am to 3pm (Targeted Case Managers & Direct Support Providers) location to be announced in Topeka, KS.

Hello HCBS Stakeholders.  Please join us for this month’s HCBS Settings Final Rule Stakeholder Call, October 18th 2017 at noon and 5:30pm.  Call in line: (866) 620-7326 Code: 582 673 67 91.

This month’s topic – Systemic Assessment vs. Systemic Remediation.  This is an opportunity to stay updated on the Stat’s planning for HCBS Settings Final Rule implementation.  As a reminder, the Statewide Transition Plan (STP) draft is the stat’s plan for evaluating current compliance with the Settings Rule, utilizing the results of evaluation, and developing plans for full compliance by March 17, 2022.  In addition to the planned topic, any new information and updates are also shared during the monthly call.  As with every call, the main purpose is to hear from stakeholders and shape an engagement process that meets your needs.  You can view the STP here:  http://www.kdads.ks.gov/commissions/home-community-based-services-(hcbs)/hcbs-waivers.  Any questions or call topic suggestions can be emailed to medicaid@wichita.edu
